The Green Room

We’re finishing up Room 2/Green Room. Why is it called the Green Room, you may ask? Well, according to my very quick Google search, ‘green’ was jargon for the section of stage visible to the public, and ‘behind the green’ meant backstage, and subsequently, the room nearest the stage became the ‘green room’.

Though a green room isn’t necessarily green, this one is Louisberg Green by Benjamin Moore, in case you were wondering. It’s a very soothing color we hope the performers will appreciate.

That stunning color on the chalkboards is Benjamin Moore’s, Old Navy. It’s a chalkboard paint with a deep, velvety look. You need to come by and see it in person, it’s gorgeous.

The display hanging high on the wall is just a small sampling of drawings by Glenn Showalter, who was very active with the SM Playhouse for many, many years.

Dick Graham is working hard to finish up the new makeup counter, so Cheryl and I can paint the cabinets and trim this week. We’re really excited about having this new space ready for the HARVEY cast and crew to use next month. You’re planning to come see the play, right? I hear the Mayor is in it!
